Sean-Patrick Murphy started Murphy Waste Systems because he kept hearing the same complaint from South Florida businesses: the hauler was easy to sign with and impossible to reach afterward. Rates crept up between invoices, contracts renewed themselves, and the person on the phone had no authority to fix anything. He was convinced a smaller, sharper company could simply do the job better.

So he built one. He bought the first truck, ran the first routes himself, and learned the business from the seat — the yards, the transfer stations, the scale houses, and the difference between a city that will let you place a container and one that will not. That groundwork is why Murphy Waste Systems can answer a siting question in a phone call instead of a week.

Today he runs the company out of Fort Lauderdale, serving commercial and municipal accounts across Florida — roll-off containers, front-load service, compactor programs and total waste solutions. He still takes the calls that matter, still walks the tough sites himself, and still holds the company to the standard it was started on: quote it straight, show up when you said you would, and never make a customer chase you.
